Happy Halloweeeeeeen!!!

I don't want to bombard you with photos because hopefully we'll get some better shots of them this weekend. Kate was the little poser, while Ethan just wanted to eat the leaves. Notice how in the first shot, I had moved all the leaves away from reach? Well, then he just found that the grass was just as tasty. Maybe I should try it. A HUGE thank you to my mom for making these darling costumes! Enjoy your Halloween Festivities!!!

Blonde or Brunette?

Okay, people. This matter is of utmost importance. I'm getting my hair done next week and I'm having the battle with myself that I have EVERY time I get it done. Should I go dark or blonde? I feel like I'm in a place in my life where I might actually stay on top of my highlights, so I would feel comfortable going either way. I tried to find good pictures of my hair at its darkest and lightest stages. Sadly, that took a very long time, till I finally gave up and went with these. I wish I were cool enough to know how to do a poll, but let's be honest, you all check this blog with google reader or some other feeder, so you wouldn't do it anyway. Please leave a comment with your opinion. Oh, and it's very important that you ignore the dorky faces I'm making.

4 RANDOM THINGS I LIKE ABOUT MY HUSBAND: 1 He is as goofy as I am and I don't have to pretend that I'm normal around him. 2 He is super hard-working in all that he does, and this includes being a great husband and dad. 3 He doesn't mind that after a long day at work, he comes home to a messy house, no dinner on the table and a wife complaining of her hard day. Sometimes when he leaves for work, he'll even assign me to take a nap that day. I try to let these days come once or twice a week, but sometimes they creep up a little more often than that. 4 He vacuums, cleans the toilet, does the dishes, and will do pretty much about any household chore (besides folding the laundry) without me asking. 4 JOBS I'VE HAD: (sad, I think I've only had 4) 1 Nordstrom. (please note that it is NordstroM, not Nordstrom'S). I worked there for the summers at home between college. LOVED it. 2 Magleby's busser. Lots of quirky things about this place, but I also loved this. 3 University of Chicago Human Resource. Man, I've really lucked out, cause I loved this job as well. 4 Mom. Obviously the best and most challenging of them all. 4 MOVIES I'VE WATCHED MORE THAN ONCE: Geez Louise, just 4? 1 Sandlot 2 Forrest Gump 3 The Bourne Trilogy (Thanks to Greg) 4 Tommy Boy 4 T.V. SHOWS I WATCH: 1 The Office 2 LOST 3 The Mentalist (best new show on TV- Please watch) 4 The Hills. not afraid to admit it. 4 PEOPLE WHO EMAIL ME REGULARLY: (sadly, it will be hard to come up with 4, so I'm really stretching here) 1 Greg. People thinks it's weird to email your spouse. I like it. We'll email random thoughts. They rarely complete a sentence and sometimes the whole email fits in the subject box. 2 Alissa. Lots of new-mom, 'what the heck am I supposed to do now?' sort of stuff. 3 Mimi 4 Ward Relief Society Email. This sad and embarrassing, I know. I really don't email that much. 4 OF MY FAVORITE FOODS: (This is where it gets really difficult as this is my passion. I don't even think I could narrow it to 40, so I'll just go with the first 4 to come to mind) 1 Chocolate. and not that American Hershey in a wrapper stuff (unless it's dark). We're talking See's. Brownies. Chocolate sauce over ice cream. Chocolate ice cream. Flourless chocolate cake. Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. Chocolate Shake from Medici's. Hot Chocolate. Chocolate milk. Chocolate covered strawberries. Fresh chocolate chip cookies. I think you get the idea. 2 Sushi. although, I'm a little burned out at the moment, but it will come back, for sure. 3 Steak. Sadly, I made the mistake of going to the hottest steakhouse in the country last summer, so many steak places now taste like the Sizzler to me. I guess that's for the better, though. I should limit my red meat intake anyway. For now, I'll save my steak-eating adventures for Ruth's Chris and such. 4 Goat Cheese. This one is random, but it's my new obsession. I love it in salads, on pizza, plain. 4 PLACES I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT: (I've only been to Europe twice, but that's enough for now. I loved it both times, but it's too expensive and there's WAY too many people at every place you would want to go, except for Switzerland, I would go there again in a heartbeat) 1 Costa Rica. Don't know why I'm so obsessed with this place, but I want to go there. I want to lay out on the beach, drink Pink Panters (virgin, of course), swing through the rain forests. 2 Cameron Indoor Stadium for a game. Preferably when they are playing UNC. 3 I don't really have any strong ambition to travel much right now, but I would love to go to an island. Any island. I've done a lot of touristy travel and I'm ready for some relaxing travel. 4 The Great Wall of China. Even though this involves going to China to see it, I think I would sacrifice. 4 THINGS I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IN THE COMING YEAR: 1 Watching the twins grow and really become friends with each other. 2 My brothers' weddings. I love weddings where I know all the people. I love to see family and friends and catching up. I love to get dressed up and see others dressed up. I love happy people. I love the temple and attending sealings there. 3 Paying off student loans. A girl can dream, right? 4 Christmastime with the twins. I think Christmastime is so magical. The day itself isn't even the best part. It's the lights and wrapping paper, bundling up, shopping for the perfect gifts, parties, baking, Christmas church clothes, Christmas cards, apple cider, I just love it all, and for some reason it's so much more beautiful with babies around. 4 PEOPLE I AM TAGGING 1 Nicole 2 Lindsey 3 Alissa 4 Mimi

Cute faces and messy faces that are also cute

When we were at Nana and Gramps' house, feeding was a little difficult without a high chair... until we discovered that Gramps serves as an excellent high chair. I gave Ethan and Kate a cracker last night. I couldn't seem to tell if they liked it or not... Had I taken the picture of Kate from a different angle, you would see the white fingernails from the death grip she had on this cracker. Ethan thought it was a competition to see how much cracker he could get on his clothes. He won. ***Warning! This video is for grandparents only!! It is very boring and I look like a complete dork, but Ethan is adorably laughing and Greg threatened that if I didn't post it, he would. I don't know why I believed that threat, but here it is anyway.

the Park

I don't want to jinx things, but life is pretty good right now. I feel like I've finally settled into a rhythm being home with these guys. It's not all cupcakes and roses, but for the most part, they have settled in to 3 glorious naps a day and I'm quite the happy camper. Don't be fooled into thinking that I actually get things done while they are asleep- that would be too much. One thing it does allow for is lots of pictures, so here you go. Strap yourself in for 3 posts. Today, the weather was absolutely gorgeous, so we strollered ourselves down to the park and enjoyed the chirping birds and warm breeze.

Good Morning!

This morning was one of those good mornings. The kids were so happy and fun. They love their piano. I find it funny that they don't like to play with it alone, but when the other is playing, they have to join in. Kate learned something new this morning... K: Mom, what does this do? M: You can use it to buy things. K: Hmmm...

A Visit to the Office

We decided to take a visit to Greg's work- see his office, meet some people. It was quite fun. Ethan noticed there was a lot of work to be done, so he thought it would be nice to help out. Yes, we give him sharp objects to play with all the time. He decided maybe he should let dad do the work.

Bathtime

Nothing too exciting going on. Ethan and Kate have switched places in the "easiness" department. Kate is an all-star napper. Loves it. She's happy all the time and content to entertain herself. She is such an adult in a little baby's body- she cracks me up all the time (she also cracks herself up. She laughs harder when she's looking in the mirror than I've ever seen anyone else get to her laugh). Ethan is still my little baby and is still a happy little guy, but he's decided naps are not for him. I haven't given up hope, but this week has been a little rough- hence, no pictures. I still love being at home, and who wouldn't love looking at these faces all day? Oh, and if you can't tell, Kate has passed up Ethan in weight. She's at least a pound heavier. We weighed them on a kitchen scale, and I'm hoping it's a little off, because if it's not, Kate is in the 99th percentile tipping the scale at 21 pounds. I remember joking with people when they were born that they would never be "big" babies. Oh, how wrong I was! I will not complain. I've always thought that fat babies are the happiest of babies, and these squirts are no exception.

First Day

Monday was Greg's first day of work. Thus also begins the first day of my job. I will have to say, his day probably went a little better than mine did, but we're already improving with each day. With a little bit of playtime... a few more walks... some jump time...
(most babies tend to jump up and down. Not Kate, she likes to practice her boxing skills) and daddy coming home for story time... I think we will survive. (okay, so this picture was taken sometime last week before a nap and not at bedtime. I don't want to you think that I force a bow on Kate at bedtime as well, but Greg DID make it home for bedtime) This week has actually gone quite well and I'm very much enjoying my job as a SAHM.

Olvera Street

Last week, Greg and I wanted to do something fun before he started work. We took the train down to Olvera Street. It was the perfect adventure. Short, sweet, and delicious tacos.
