Halloween

The beginning of this school year, the twins decided they wanted to read Harry Potter. My idea was to have them read them in shifts, Kate going first because she was the first to get started, thus only having to buy one set of books. Things went exactly as planned (it didn't). They each have gotten each book and they are never more than a chapter apart from each other, and they talk incessantly about every single detail of every single page. They were even part of a "Harry Potter Club" at school, which consisted of Ethan, Kate, and... one other girl. Which, truth be told, tugs at this mama's heart strings, so I guess I can't be too mad at them.

So it was no surprise they wanted to be Harry and Hermione for Halloween.
Their school did a parade this year for the first year ever, and it was so fun to go and seen all the kids in their getups.

Drew was a ninja by day...

And Luke Skywalker by night.

When Kate declared her Hermione wishes, I got a little giddy inside imagining the poof we were going to get out of her hair.
Turns out, she's got only silky glamorousness that refuses to tease.
Sad face for Halloween purposes, Happy face for all the rest of life.

Speaking of sad face...

Benny was not amused by the silly headpiece we asked of him to wear.

It didn't help that he had to go to bed before any of the candy even came out.

The other kids did just fine.

Ugh, why am I so bad about taking pictures of visitors? My amazing mother came for Halloween this year and it was so fun having her here. She loves Halloween. And we love her! She even had naughty pants Benny all heart eyes about her in no time. She's pretty special like that.
