We got to spend spring break in California this year.
We spent one day swimming at Marva's, and for some reason, this is the only pic I got. Benny wasn't feeling well, so naturally we offered him life's best medicine- a Big Stick.
It worked.
We made it out to Newport one day and were pleased as punch to snag a prime parking spot. We should have known then that the arctic temperatures were going to make for a cold day. But a cold day at the beach is better than any day anywhere else, if you ask me. And when you wash it down with Sancho's Tacos, it's hard to beat.
The bigs' birthdays fell during the week of spring break and for their birthday, they wanted to go to Harry Potter world at Universal Studios.
It was magical.
I had always assumed no one theme parked like Disney, but Universal sure knows what they're doing. The rides, lines, and FOOD, were top notch.
Ethan and I lucked out big time by chancing the single rider line on the Mummy ride, and ending up next to each other. It's no secret that we're roller coaster junkies and this one delivered.
We visited the superhero, Uncle Shawn, at his shop one morning and test drove some toys.
We took a trip down memory lane, in Old Town Pasadena. And by memory lane, I mean it was a street that the kids lived on, but have no memory of. We played at the park, had lunch, and Ethan shared his birthday money with a nice man on the side of the street, who also happened to be celebrating his birthday.
A walk on the mountain
It was nice to see California so green again.
